Roebuck Springs

The Roebuck Springs Neighborhood is a beautiful and vibrant place to live. Nestled in rolling hills and picturesque valleys and framed by the natural and historic majesty of Ruffner Mountain and the spring fed headwaters of its namesake, Roebuck Springs, longtime residents and new neighbors alike believe it's the best value in the city.

The neighborhood is conveniently located next to parks, bird sanctuaries, wildlife refuges, good schools, shopping, restaurants, and a diverse community of faith-based and non profit organizations. It offer quick access to the airport and Interestate 59, and is just 11 miles from downtown Birmingham. More shopping and dining can be found in nearby Trussville.

Developed in the early 1900's by entrepreneur Robert Jemison, Jr., along with the East Lake Land Company in association with the Roebuck Auto and Golf Club, Roebuck Springs was the first large residential suburb in Birmingham whose planning and development was tied to the automobile, as well as the first community associated with a country club/golf course development. The Roebuck Springs Historic Preservation Society (www.rshps.org) petitioned the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1999, The Roebuck Springs Historic District was established.

Classic turn of the century homes and old growth oaks are characteristic along the Valley Lake and Ridge Top areas. Lot sizes are large and the landscaping is mature. If you are relocating to the Birmingham area, these neighborhood property values are hard to beat.
