Woodlawn

Woodlawn was once a thriving middle class neighborhood just east of downtown and has in recent years experienced significant revitilization thanks to the efforts of Woodlawn Foundation and REV Birmingham. At the core of the community, urban district 55th Place has been renovated and is home to a variety of commercial tenants, including two recording studios and a local artist boutique. Social Venture, the newest development in the area, is a modern workspace targeted to social entrepreneurs and small businesses looking for office space in a collaborative environment. The proposed Woodlawn Innovation Zone has triggered much attention from education leaders and experts from around the state, as it has the potential to transform the public school model here in Birmingham.

Investment opportunities are rich in Woodlawn, with an increasing number of young families and creative professionals flocking to the area.
