Glen Iris

Glen Iris is an incredibly diverse community of happy, city-dwelling folks of all ages and backgrounds. The neighborhood is central to UAB, parks, restaurants, world-class entertainment and great schools.

George Ward Park provides residents a paved walking trail, fenced dog park, tennis courts, softball fields, disc golf course, and is currnetly undergoing a reforestation project led by active neighbors. The neighborhood also includes Bessie Estell Park and an entrance to Vulcan Trail.

Glen Iris Elementary and Epic Alternative Elementary School have both become sought-after institutions due to strong leadership and innovative curriculum. Ramsay High School, located in the adjacent Five Points South neighborhood, will officially become an International Baccalaureate school in Fall, 2013.

With homes dating back to the early 1900s, Glen Iris includes a wide range of housing stock: single family homes (both small and large), condos, apartments and townhomes. Sidewalks are a' plenty, giving this area a "small town vibe in an urban district". We like to say, "There's something for everyone in Glen Iris."
